oncology services

supporting you before, during + after treatment.

Physiotherapy plays an important role in oncology rehabilitation, supporting patients in managing treatment-related changes and optimising pelvic health during and after cancer treatment.

Embrace Physio and Pilates provides evidence-based, expert and compassionate care, tailored to each individual client and designed to improve treatment tolerance, maintain physical function and support overall wellbeing.

These services are led by oncology-trained physiotherapists with experience in:

  • Gynaecological cancers

  • Breast cancer

  • Prostate cancer

breast cancer physiotherapy

Breast cancer treatment can affect shoulder movement, strength, posture and scar mobility, often leading to stiffness, discomfort and reduced confidence with movement.

At Embrace, we support a gradual and guided return to activity while helping manage the physical side effects of treatment.

Treatment-induced menopause can also affect pelvic and vaginal health, increasing the risk of dryness, pain and bladder leakage. Our physiotherapists provide supportive pelvic health care alongside breast cancer rehabilitation.

Recovery support may include:

  • Scar, cording and soft tissue management

  • Shoulder range of motion restoration

  • Gradual strength rebuilding

  • Fatigue management through tailored exercise

Before Treatment, Surgery or Radiation

Starting pelvic floor physiotherapy before treatment has been shown to improve continence and recovery outcomes. Some treatments, such as radiotherapy, require a comfortably full bladder, which can be challenging to manage without guidance.

At Embrace, we help you prepare with individual assessment, education and targeted pelvic floor training. Cancer treatment can be physically and emotionally demanding, and our goal is to support your recovery and help you return to daily life and the activities you enjoy.

After Treatment

We provide evidence-based rehabilitation for:

  • Bladder or bowel leakage

  • Pelvic pain

  • Post-surgical pelvic floor rehabilitation

  • Vaginal dilator therapy support following radiation therapy

  • Sexual health concerns

  • Safe return to movement and exercise
