Pregnancy and childbirth can be physically demanding on your body. Our physiotherapists can help you build a deeper understanding of your pelvic floor health and prepare for either vaginal or caesarean section births. We also aim to keep you pain-free, safe and strong throughout each trimester by assessing any aches and pains and modifying exercise as needed.

Pregnancy and childbirth are risk factors for changes in pelvic health and as such, every woman should become educated about what they can do to reduce their risk. As pelvic health physiotherapists, we can assess your current pelvic health, teach you how to activate these muscles correctly and look at ways to optimise them throughout each trimester and leading into birth. Changes to your abdominal muscles, flexibility and blood flow also mean you are more likely to develop physical discomforts that we can help manage via hands on therapy, education, support garments and exercise modifications.

We also work with your obstetrician, general practitioner and/or midwife to ensure continuity of care throughout your pregnancy and birth.
