clinic updates: pelvic health physio in melbourne

The physios’ and pilates instructors at Embrace Physio + Pilates have been super busy this year with new team members and fun and exciting events being held across Melbourne!

Welcome our new physio: Sophie!

Sophie is our newest recruit to the pelvic floor physiotherapy team and brings a wealth of pre and postnatal and exercise knowledge. You can read more about her here and see her in clinic on Tuesday afternoons and fortnightly Saturdays.

Sophie is also a talented pilates instructor and teaches many of our classes throughout the week.

Zali, Dora and Jess ran pelvic pain classes at the Julia Argyrou Endometriosis Centre in March this year to help increase awareness of how pelvic floor physio and pilates can help manage the symptoms of endometriosis.

Our 4:1 pelvic pain classes are extremely unique and allow those experiencing pelvic pain conditions to exercise safely.

As such, we took the Epworth staff through some of these lengthening and strengthening exercises, breath-work and pelvic floor muscle relaxation to showcase how beneficial movement can truely be for these patients.

By working within a holistic care team, those managing symptoms of chronic pelvic conditions can immensely improve their quality of life.

Birth preparation events at BUMP Malvern and From Day One

Embrace is super excited to announce that we are now running regular birth preparation events in our local community and recently took expecting mums through birth preparation and movement classes at BUMP Malvern and From Day One.

These are designed to help educate and empower pregnant women through their birthing experience, including both vaginal and caeserean births. We include lots of birth preparation stretches, deep breathing and pelvic floor relaxation strategies and deliver interactive presentations on the role of the pelvic floor muscles, strategies to reduce the risks during a vaginal birth, pain management options and how to optimise recovery.

If you are interested in having us run an event in your space sometime soon, then please reach out to us via our contact page.
